Substrait vs Conversica: an enterprise generalist, or a real estate engine?
Conversica sells AI agents into software, finance, education, automotive and everything else. The platform is genuinely good and it is built to be configured into whatever business bought it.
Substrait only does real estate. It reads MLS data, buyer and seller intent and listing timing, because that is the only thing it will ever be asked to do.
Eight differences that decide it.
| Substrait | Conversica | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is built for | Real estate brokerages only | Every industry |
| Out of the box it knows | MLS data, listings, deal timing | Whatever you configure into it |
| Fair Housing screening | In the code, on every draft | Not a generalist’s concern |
| Where it runs | Inside your CRM | Their platform, integrated to yours |
| Getting started | Connect the CRM, it starts working | A professional-services build |
| Published price | $179 to $1,079 a month | Quote only |
| Contract | Cancel in the product, 30 days | Annual, often multi-year |
| Past clients and your sphere | Encore™. Anniversaries, birthdays, your own market page | Not offered |
Conversica does not publish pricing. Their site carries no pricing page and no pricing link, checked 30 August 2026. The figures reported by third-party review sites sit in the low thousands per month on annual commitments, and we have not been able to source that from Conversica themselves, so treat it as an indication rather than a quote. Substrait prices are the founding-member rate, 40 percent off list.
What each one actually is.
Conversica builds AI agents for revenue teams across every industry. The platform handles conversation at enterprise scale, with the polish and the compliance apparatus a large company expects. What you buy is a capable general-purpose system plus the work of configuring it into a real estate business, which becomes somebody’s job.
Substrait only works real estate. It reads the lead record in your CRM, including the MLS activity, and every message clears twenty-five guardrails before it sends, Fair Housing screening among them. There is nothing to configure into a vertical, because there is only one vertical. It runs Sierra Interactive and Follow Up Boss today.
Conversica pricing is a sales call. Ours is a page.
Enterprise deals get quoted, which is normal and not a failing. It does mean the only published number here is ours.
| Substrait | Conversica | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly rate | $179 to $1,079 by database size | Not published |
| Implementation build | None | Professional services, priced per engagement |
| Minimum term | None. 30 days’ notice | Annual, often longer |
| Time to first message | Same day | As long as the build takes |
| How you get a number | Read the pricing page | Talk to sales |
Enterprise pricing is not a failing. It is what you do when every deal is a different shape, and Conversica’s deals genuinely are. It does mean the comparison cannot be made on a table. If you are a brokerage rather than a Fortune 500, the procurement cycle is usually the answer on its own.
Three questions worth answering first.
Nobody switches from Conversica to us on features. The question is whether a general platform should be taught your business.
A horizontal platform arrives capable and generic. Someone has to turn it into a real estate system, and that someone works for you.
Substrait arrives knowing what a listing is, what a pre-approval means, and why a lead who saved three houses in Henderson last night is worth a message this morning.
A platform serving every industry has no reason to ship real estate specific language screening, and it does not.
A draft that characterizes a neighborhood or the people in it is blocked outright here, not softened and sent. That rule exists because of the industry we are in.
Enterprise onboarding is a build. It is thorough, and it is measured in weeks or months.
Substrait connects to the CRM and starts working leads. There is no professional-services engagement because there is nothing to construct.
What Conversica gets right.
The scale is real. They run conversation volumes we do not, across organizations far larger than any brokerage, and they have done it for years.
The polish is real. Enterprise reporting, security review, procurement paperwork, the whole apparatus. If your company requires that, they have it and we are early.
Horizontal is a strategy, not a flaw. Being useful to every industry is a harder problem than being useful to one. They solved theirs. We picked the easier one on purpose.
