Substrait AI vs Fello

Substrait vs Fello: which one works the database you already own?

The short answer

Substrait runs inside the CRM your team already logs into. Fello is a platform your database moves onto, and Felix is sold on top of it.

If Sierra Interactive or Follow Up Boss is already working for you, Substrait costs less and nothing moves. If you want the database product itself, Fello is a real one.

Substrait prices are the founding-member rate, which is 40 percent off the list price of $299 and $549 and holds for as long as you stay. Fello figures are the published monthly rates on their pricing page, checked 29 August 2026, and are the base plan only. Annual billing is lower on both sides.

Definitions

What each one actually is.

Fello
Platform plus add-on

Fello is a database platform for real estate teams. You put your contacts on it, and their Living Database enriches those records with property, mortgage and contact signals. Felix is the AI layer, and their pricing page sells it as an add-on you attach to a plan rather than as part of one. Felix does the calling, texting and emailing, and the lead meets Felix by name.

SubstraitAI
Engine inside your CRM

Substrait is an AI ISA that runs inside your existing CRM account. It reads the lead record your agents already look at, decides the next move, and sends from your office’s own number, in your agent’s name. There is no second platform and no second copy of your database. It works Sierra Interactive and Follow Up Boss today.

Price

What each one costs at your database size.

Substrait bills one flat rate by database size, and the AI is the product. Fello bills for the platform, and Felix is extra.

Active contactsSubstrait, AI includedFello base, before FelixDifference a year
3,000 contacts$179 a month$499 a month, Growth plan$3,840
5,000 contacts$179 a month$599 a month, Growth plan$5,040
10,000 contacts$329 a month$799 a month, Scale plan$5,640
15,000 contacts$329 a month$1,049 a month, Scale plan$8,640
25,000 contacts$539 a month$1,549 a month, Scale plan$12,120
40,000 contacts$539 a month$2,000 a month, Enterprise plan$17,532

Fello figures use whichever published plan is cheapest at that size, including the $50 per additional 1,000 contacts. The Fello column is the platform on its own. Felix is an add-on on every plan and its price is not published, so the real gap is wider than the last column shows. Rates checked 29 August 2026 on Fello’s pricing page.

The decision

Three questions worth answering first.

The table covers the specifications. These are the three that are actually arguments, and reasonable people land differently on them.

01
Should an AI make the call?

Felix calls your leads. The voice is built to pass for a person, down to the pauses. That works, and some teams want it.

We took the other side. Substrait writes and does not perform, and the phone call belongs to your agent. There is no warm transfer and no moment where the lead works out what they were talking to.

02
Whose name is on it?

With Felix, the lead meets a named AI first, and every Fello customer’s leads meet the same one.

Substrait sends as your agent, tuned to how that agent writes. Your leads never learn a second name, and the thread they see is one continuous conversation.

03
Where does the work live?

Fello wants to be your database. That is a real product decision, not a flaw, and it is the whole basis of the Living Database.

Substrait assumes you already picked a CRM and your agents live in it. It works those records rather than a copy, so there is no second system for your team to check and nothing to migrate on the way in or out.

In fairness

When Fello is the better buy.

When you have not committed to a CRM. If your database is spread across spreadsheets and an old system nobody logs into, buying a platform and an AI together is a reasonable way to start. Substrait needs a CRM to run inside. Fello does not.

When the enrichment is the point. Their Living Database is genuinely good. Property, mortgage and contact signals on records you already own is a real product, and they were early to the idea that the opportunity is already in your database.

When you want the AI on the phone. We think that call belongs to your agent. If you disagree, that is a preference and not a mistake, and Felix does it.

Questions

Substrait and Fello, answered.

Still deciding? Compare every AI, or read the security and compliance detail.

Is Substrait cheaper than Fello?
Yes, at every database size we can compare. At 5,000 active contacts Substrait is $179 a month with the AI included. Fello's Growth plan is $599 at that size, and Felix is still an add-on on top. The gap widens as the database grows.
Is Felix included in Fello's price?
No. Fello's pricing page lists Felix as an add-on you attach to any plan. The base plan buys the database product. Felix is what does the calling, texting and emailing, and its price is not published.
Do I have to move my database to use Substrait?
No. Substrait connects to the CRM you already run and works the records that are in it. There is no second database, no import step, and nothing to export if you leave.
Can I use Substrait and Fello together?
Technically yes, because Substrait works inside your CRM rather than replacing it. In practice you would be paying twice to work the same contacts. Most teams pick one.
Does Substrait call leads the way Felix does?
No, and that is deliberate. Substrait writes text and email. We do not think it is an AI’s job to hold a phone conversation while presenting as a person on your team. Your agent takes the call.
Which CRMs does Substrait work with?
Sierra Interactive and Follow Up Boss today, with GoHighLevel connected. Substrait runs inside your main account rather than beside it.
When is Fello the better choice?
When you want the database product itself. Their Living Database enrichment is genuinely good, and if you have no CRM you are committed to, buying the platform and the AI together is a reasonable way to start.
